Iron Brotherhood Road Trip Oct.28

We are planning on going to the Tampa Bay Strongman Classic on Oct. 28.

This will be in place of our November club  meeting, since I will be in Miami for the

Adex Mace & Club Certification that weekend.

Here’s an idea of what the action is like at the Strongman competition

Ego & impatience–the enemies of progress in training

No one gets incredibly strong in a short period of time.

Though the current culture thinks it should be otherwise, people actually have to do the hard work on a consistent basis for a  long time to develop that kind of strength.

You are not entitled to strength, you have to earn it one day at a time, rep by rep, for years.

The process will involve many small PRs over the course of time (with a bigger PR once in a while).

Read up on any really strong lifters and look at how long they have trained.

It just takes time. The whole body will be changing as the strength levels improve. This cannot be safely accelerated. Give it the time it needs.

One of the biggest stumbling blocks I have seen over the years is people not being satisfied with a small PR, they want a bigger PR right now and don’t get it.

When they are strong enough, later, they will probably get it.

The results follow the work.

They always have.

Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, & Maria left paths of death and destruction.

Numerous lives were lost and building/homes destroyed.

We pray for those who lost loved ones in these storms.

Now we are helping people rebuild by supporting a long-term recovery and rebuilding team. You can read about them here

Our athletes are taking pledges based on the how much weight they can deadlift.

Your donations will help rebuild homes and we appreciate your generosity.

The evening classes will still be held (5:30pm – 7:00pm)

Convenience is the killer

Americans are notorious for packing their schedules too full, but they are not alone.

Convenience beckons them with fast food instead of real food, energy drinks instead of sleep, texting instead of talking to people face to face,  and fat loss gimmicks instead of effective fitness training.

Soon or later convenience will cost them dearly.

The mindset of convenience is easily rationalized and it is very addictive.

You cannot live well without real food, enough sleep, a solid training program, and healthy relationships.

Make whatever adjustments you need to in order to escape the curse of convenience!
